In 1983, during the Reagans' first term in the White House, a cabinet member (J.W./ Interior Secretary?) with an EXTREMELY Judgemental point-of-view, publicly denounced the Beach Boys and their message/music. At the same time, the residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, formerly of CALIFORNIA, maintaining a Ranch Home there (additional home in BelAir, CA after eight years in the nation's capitol), were not pleased about this verbal attack. President and Mrs. Reagan hosted the Beach Boys in Washington, D.C., and the group has returned many times to capacity crowds.
